BMCRI MBBS Fees 2026-27

BMCRI’s MBBS programme admits 250 students each year across the Karnataka State Quota and the All India Quota. The programme runs for five academic years followed by a six-month compulsory rotatory internship, with fees charged for the five study years only.

The SC/ST fee concession is one of the sharpest in government medical education: at INR 20,200 per year, SC/ST students pay less than a third of the General rate of INR 70,200. The five-year saving of INR 2,50,000 is among the highest absolute waivers any government medical college offers. At that rate, the full MBBS costs less than a single semester at most private medical colleges in Karnataka.

BMCRI MBBS Fee Bifurcation by Category

Admission is through NEET-UG. Karnataka domicile candidates secure seats through KEA online counselling; All India Quota seats are filled by MCC. Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

All five three-year B.Sc allied health sciences programmes at BMCRI carry the same fee structure. Medical Imaging Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Respiratory Care Technology, Operation Theatre Technology and Radiotherapy each total INR 40,810 over three years, with no fee premium attached to any specialization. Two lateral-entry variants for MLT and Operation Theatre Techniques carry identical fees.

The first year is slightly more expensive at INR 17,970 due to one-time enrollment charges; years two and three come to INR 11,420 each.

At INR 40,000 for two years, the Group A PG Diploma programmes are the cheapest postgraduate medical courses at BMCRI and among the most affordable in the country for a recognised qualification. The Group B programmes at INR 56,770 carry higher examination and registration charges, though both groups cover a INR 20,000 annual tuition. The one-year Diploma in Forensic Medicine costs just INR 10,000, the lowest fee for any course offered at BMCRI.

MD and MS fees at BMCRI split across three levels depending on specialty category. Clinical branches, where patient load and training intensity are highest, sit at INR 3,76,500 for three years. Para-clinical branches cost INR 2,26,500. Preclinical branches, including Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology, are the most affordable at INR 1,51,500. The gap between the top and bottom tiers is INR 2,25,000, all within the same MD degree programme.

BMCRI Application Fees 2026-27

BMCRI does not charge a separate institute-level application fee for any programme. The fees below are paid to the respective national testing or admission authority.

• NEET-UG (for MBBS): INR 1,700 for General/OBC/EWS candidates, INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD, paid to NTA.
• KEA counselling registration (Karnataka State Quota): fee notified annually by KEA; typically INR 500 to INR 2,000. Check cetonline.karnataka.gov.in for the current cycle amount.
• MCC counselling registration (All India Quota): fee notified by MCC each cycle at mcc.nic.in.

BMCRI Hostel Fees 2026-27

BMCRI runs separate hostels for male and female MBBS students, with three boys hostels (BHEEMA, THUNGA and VARUNA) and one girls hostel (KAVERI). The annual accommodation charge is approximately INR 15,000; mess charges are billed separately at around INR 2,500 to INR 4,000 per month depending on the mess facility. A refundable security deposit is collected at joining.
