- Starting with the positives, the unviversity offers a robust academic environment. The faculty is generally well-qualified, with many professors having extensive experience in their fields.
- Campus life at Nirma is vibrant, with numerous clubs and societies catering to a wide range of interests, from technical clubs to cultural and sports activities. This diversity allows for a rich social life, where you can interact with peers.
- The placement devices at Nirma are another strong point. The placement cell is active and supportive, organising regular training sessions, workshops, and mock interviews to prepare students for the job market.
Dislikes
- However, there are areas where I feel the university could improve. Despite the faculty's expertise, the teaching methods can sometimes feel outdated. There's a tendency to stick to traditional lecture-based teaching, which may not cater to all style
- Social interactions, while generally positive, can sometimes feel limited to specific groups or circles, which might make it challenging for some students to fully integrate into campus life.
- The course curriculum, while comprehensive, can sometimes feel rigid. There is a strong focus on core subjects, but the curriculum could benefit from elective options, allowing students to explore areas of interest outside their major.
Remarks :
I chose Nirma University over othe options like DAIICT,PDPU, and VIT due to its strong reputation in Computer Science, rigorous curriculum, and robust placement services. While DAIICT was close, Nirma's cmprehensive engineering focus and better industry connections won me over. I did not make it to IITS or BITS pilanis due to a lower jee advance socre, but I found Nirma's bananced academic and exteacurricular environment appealing. The admission process at Nirma is competitive, Based on jee mains score, with a smooth counsiling experience. Overall, Nirma's academic culture, faculty expetise, and opportunities made it the righ choice for me.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had rate the course curriculum at Nirma University as relevant and comprehensive. The curriculum's strong focus on core subjects infuenced my decision, offering a solid foundation for real-world appications and further studies. It effectively prepares students for industry demands, though more elective options and updates content in emerginh fields would enhance its relevence. the exams, held twice a semester, are challenging but fair. However, incorporating more interctive teaching methods could make learnig more engaging and better aligned with modern educational practices.
Placement Experience :
At Nirma University, students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th sem. The placement cell is active, with top companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, and Oracle visiting the campus, The highest package offered last year wa around 52 LPA, While the average paakage is about 7-8 LPA, depending on the branch and role. Roles offered range from software development to consulting. Approximately 85-90% of students secure development to consulting. After completing my degree, I plan to either join a reputed tech firm or pursure higher studies to futher specialize in my field.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
At Nirma University, the fee structure for the B.tech in computer science course varies each year, reflecting a slight annual increase, typically around 3-4%. In the first year(2023-24), the total fee comes to Rs. 2,14,000. This includes caution deposit of Rs.10,000. other charges includes 7,000 Rs. Overall, the complete course costs around Rs.9,00,000 over four years. This fee structure is for students in the General category. Management quoto students generally pay around 10-20% more. Nirma University offes sveral scholarship to help ease the financial burden. For instance, the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is available to students from economically weaker senctions, covering 50-100% of tuition fee, depending on their financial situation and academic performance.SC/ST students can also benefit from government scholarships, which may cover up to 100% of their tuition and other fees. Private organizations also provide scholarships based on merit and need.
Campus Life :
Campus life at Nirma is vibrant and fulfilling. Anual events in february and march are major highlights, fostering a strong community spirit. The library is well equppied with a vast collection of books and journals. classrooms feature modern technology like projectors and wi-fi , enhacing the learnig experience. The campus offers diverse sports facilities, including cricket, football and a gym. Active students-run clubs, such as coding club and debate society, significatly enrich student life with opportunities for skill development and social inteaction.
Faculty :
At Nirma University, the faculty-student relationship is generally positive. The faculty-to-student ration is decent, allowing for good interaction between students and teachers. Most faculty members are approchable, and they encourage students to ask questions and seek guidance outside of class hours. This openness is something I really appreciated during my time there. There are a few faculty members who stand out to me. Some Professor in CSE department is fantastice. They have a deep undestanding of the subject and always make complex topics easy to grasp. Their teaching style is engaging, and they often use real-life examples to explain concepts, which makes learning more interesting. Another faculty member i liked is from EC department. In summary, the faculty at NU is generally supportive, with some truly excellent teachers who make learning enjoyable. The course structure is solid but demanding, and while the exams can be challenging, the are fire.

So birla Vishvakarma Mahaviyalaya provides decent placements in all of the engineering branches.the placements percentage in computer engineering department is about 90% there are several company like TCS, AMAZON, ADANI, and MG HECTOR that visits our campus. So students become eligible for the campus placement after the 6th semester or the 3rd year of the college. The college traning and placements provides several cources to help more and more students to get placed in the company.
