- Air conditioner class rooms and labs. Giving breaks during lecs
- Fests and events of somaiya college which is well organised
Dislikes
- Lift stops working on a random day, sometimes even for days it doesn't work
- Somaiya campus area is huge which is good but changing class for lectures going from one building to another is something I dislike.
- Mid sem exams where 2 exams are on the same day.Its good actually but I don't want to give 2 exams on a same day
Remarks :
A candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 55% for being eligible for BCA. From this year i.e. 2024 the candidate should have been appeared for entrance exams. The whole process of addmission is online, nothing is offline. You can find everything related to the course in the Somaiya website.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was influenced by the curriculum's focus on core programming languages and database management.The presense of career oriented module and industry connections played a significant role.The exam timings are of 2 or 3 hours depending on the marks. The papers are set according to the syllabus. The structure of paper pattern includes every unit which helps to test the overall knowledge of the individual subject
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Registration fee for addmission is 500 which is non refundable.Yearly fees for BCA is 1,75,000. Total fees for 3 year bachelor's degree is 5,25,000. Yearly fees remains constant and does not increase or decrease. Scholarship is available from second year which is merit based and also need based.
Campus Life :
Somaiya College is also known for the events they have. There conduct workshop, competitions and other events also. Student of any course can join the event and the other workshops. There are cultural programs, corporate panel discussion, conference, speaker sessions, orientations and many more. There are different types of clubs which the students can join
Faculty :
The faculty of Somaiya is nice and also friendly. They also have mentor mentee sessions with students to help them in any ways other then the course. One can easily approach the faculty, they are approachable and very nice.

The course curriculum at Akimss Solapur is quite comprehensive, offering relevant content that aligns with industry needs. It effectively prepares students for real-world applications. However, more hands-on projects and updated teaching methods could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed and of moderate difficulty.

Placement Experience :
Yes college have the placement opportunities. Yes there campus placement in the college . Students become eligible for internships from second year and for campus starts from the 5th semester. College gives proper training for the placement training. Companies visit in MIT are Mahindra tech , congnizant , Google , Accenture etc . Highest package of the MIT is 56 lakhs per annum by a fresher , and average package of the MIT is 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students getting placement is 12-13%. My plans after the bachelors degree is to prepare for the masters degree.

Teaching methods are great we get many practical sessions as much as theory and they are trying many new methods from our batch mid sems final sems them providing all the notes materials expaling everything in detail

The placement opportunities at our college are quite satisfactory. Students become eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester onwards. Numerous reputable companies visit our campus for recruitment, including [mention a few companies, e.g., Infosys, TCS, Wipro]. On average, the placement packages range between 2.5 to 5 lakhs per annum, with some exceptional candidates securing higher packages based on their skills and performance.
